What is air recognition protection on electronics instantaneous water heaters?
Back to Article Index...Instantaneous water heaters with bare wire heating elements (units: DHE, DEL, DHB-E) are equipped with an air recognition protection system, which prevents to a curtain degree damage to the element from large amounts of air in the water supply.
If air is coming through the water pipes an error signal lights up, the heating is switched off & then after 60 seconds the heating is automatically restarted. If there is only air on start-up the unit will cut all power via its thermal cut out device which is separate to its dynamic electronic air recognition safety device.
